The Office of STEM at the San Joaquin County Office of Education provides professional development for teachers, administrators, technology coordinators and others, focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The Office of STEM’s mission is to spark inquiry related to the Science and Engineering Content Standards, National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) and the California Scienc

e Frameworks. Districts inside and outside San Joaquin County, community colleges and universities in the region work with the Office of STEM to promote science, technology, engineering and math as core subjects for all grade levels. The office also serves as liaison between the California Department of Education and other national/regional STEM-oriented agencies. Our programs are designed to promote the improvement of STEM education and teacher leadership.

What a way to wrap up the school year! 🏎️ Today at the SJCOE FabLab, two classes of 6th grade students from Nile Garden Elementary shifted into high gear for an awesome day of mechanical engineering.
Students collaborated with their teams to design, engineer, and code their way to the finish line 🏁 While this marks the last field trip of the school year, the innovation and learning don’t stop here.
The fun continues this summer, with some exciting 1st-12th grade camp opportunities being offered right here at the SJCOE FabLab! ☀️
