I had the opportunity to speak and accept a generous donation for Tyler's Justice Center for Children from Lena Illinois Lions Club!

Thank you for welcoming and laughing with me. Most importantly, supporting Tyler’s mission and values to protect and care for our children and community 💙💜.

Tyler’s is also grateful to be apart of Lions Service Carnival, Saturday March 21st 10am-2pm. We will have activities for children and information about Tyler’s!

Tyler’s covers three different counties in the fight for our children and families.

We want to make sure we recognize our partners involved in that effort and more!!!!

Thank you, Chief of Police Eric Hefel as he officially retired, you are inspirational!
To fill his shoes, Lieutenant Timothy Wuebben was sworn in as the new Chief of Police. Also, Sergeant Investigator Keith Brandel was sworn in as a new Lieutenant and Officer Kim Hatfield was sworn in as the new Sergeant Investigator.

Personally, I had the great honor of working and knowing these phenomenal people!! So, here is to your amazing services to our community.
Also, here’s to a continued relationship!!

As part of our Black History Month observance, VOICES is profiling prominent individuals who have helped move work in domestic and sexual violence forward. Audre Lorde was an American writer, professor, philosopher, intersectional feminist, poet, and civil rights activist. She was a self-described "Black, le***an, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, poet" who dedicated her life and talents to confronting all forms of injustice and oppression. She believed that there could be "no hierarchy of oppressions" among "those who share the goals of liberation and a workable future for our children.”
In 1981, Lorde was among the founders of the Women's Coalition of St. Croix, an organization dedicated to assisting women who have survived sexual abuse and intimate partner violence.
