DACA recipients: Don't wait to renew your status.
Congressional offices across California are seeing an increase in delayed DACA renewals. While processing times are currently around 3.5 months, many cases are taking up to 5 months due to additional background checks. Expedite requests are being approved only in limited circumstances.
To avoid delays, gaps in work authorization, and potential job loss, renew your DACA application 150 days before your current DACA expires, and no later than 120 days before expiration.
These delays are often outside of your control. Protect your work permit and your ability to continue working by applying early.
