Stockton Democrats Together is proud to host our Summer Food Drive in support of two organizations doing essential work in our community: the Stockton Salvation Army and Red Rabbit Advocacy.

Taking care of one another is at the heart of who we are as a community. When our neighbors face hard times, showing up for them is not just a value we hold, but a responsibility we share. This food drive is one small way we can put that responsibility into action and make sure families across Stockton have access to the basic necessities they deserve.

Please donate canned food and dry cereals. Donations can be dropped off by August 31 at the Red Rabbit Advocacy office, located at 326 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Stockton, CA 95206. Members unable to drop off may contact SDT Vice President Travis Castle at [email protected] to arrange a pickup.

If you are able, we encourage you to stop by and give what you can. Every contribution, large or small, helps ensure our neighbors are supported and that no one in our community is left behind. This is what it means to organize with and for one another in Stockton and San Joaquin County.

Today, we celebrate the founding of our nation and the promise that the American Dream belongs to all of us. We are proud to be Americans. We exercise the freedoms to speak, vote, worship, assemble, disagree, and build a better future together.

Our own Central Valley is a true melting pot of cultures, traditions, and experiences, a living example of the American Dream in action. The diversity of our community is our strength, not a flaw in this American experiment. The San Joaquin Democratic Party knows patriotism is not blind loyalty. It is pride in how far we have come, paired with the understanding that there is still work to do and a brighter future to build. We will not allow any one administration, politician, or political movement to divide us. We know America is strongest when We the People define the American spirit through unity, community, and solidarity. That spirit is alive at every farmers market and Little League game, every rally and march, around every backyard barbecue, along every trail in nature, in every local small business, workshop, and downtown.

So let’s celebrate where we’ve been, keep fighting for where we’re going, and never stop believing in the promise of America. Let us honor the generations of innovators, thinkers, builders, activists, organizers, entrepreneurs, educators, working people, and, of course, the service members and veterans who have fought and sacrificed to protect our rights and defend our freedom.

Happy Fourth of July, and happy America 250!

DACA recipients: Don't wait to renew your status.

Congressional offices across California are seeing an increase in delayed DACA renewals. While processing times are currently around 3.5 months, many cases are taking up to 5 months due to additional background checks. Expedite requests are being approved only in limited circumstances.

To avoid delays, gaps in work authorization, and potential job loss, renew your DACA application 150 days before your current DACA expires, and no later than 120 days before expiration.

These delays are often outside of your control. Protect your work permit and your ability to continue working by applying early.

Please share this information with friends, family, coworkers, and community members who may be affected.

Marco, 26, graduated from one of the country’s top medical schools last week. He found his calling after witnessing his grandmother battle cancer, and he sometimes worked up to 40 to 60 hours a week to afford his education.

Congratulations to SJC Endorsed Candidate Michael Masuda for advancing to the November General Election.
