The Stone Harbor Police Department will be participating in the statewide “Goal: Zero” high-visibility traffic enforcement campaign on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 3PM to 7PM.

During this initiative, officers will be conducting proactive traffic enforcement throughout the Borough with a focus on improving roadway and pedestrian safety. Enforcement efforts will target violations commonly associated with serious motor vehicle crashes, including:
• Distracted Driving
• Seatbelt Violations
• Reckless Driving
• Failure to Yield to Pedestrians
• Stop Sign & Traffic Signal Violations
This enforcement campaign serves as an important reminder to drive responsibly, stay alert, and help keep our communities safe.

This month’s “Goal Zero” enforcement effort is dedicated to the memory of Manchester Township Patrolman Robert T. Tobias, who was tragically struck and killed in the line of duty on May 17, 1975, during a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 70. We honor his service and sacrifice.

Please drive safely and help us work toward ZERO fatalities on our roadways.

🚨 HEADS UP, STONE HARBOR! 🚨

Summer is right around the corner, which means our seasonal traffic and parking regulations officially kick in tomorrow, May 1st.☀️🌊

Here is what you need to know before you hit the road:

📱 Paid Parking is Back
Paid parking in the business district, certain streets, and some lots goes back into effect on May 1. Don't forget that Stone Harbor has gone digital and uses the ParkMobile app. Paid spaces are marked with the ParkMobile logo and zones can be found on the posted ParkMobile signage. If you're having trouble with the app, ask an officer and we'll help get you up and running!

Pro-Tip: If you haven't already, download the ParkMobile app and set up your license plate and payment info before you head into town to save yourself the hassle!

🛑 No Turn On Red
Starting May 1, "No Turn on Red" regulations are officially enforced at our posted traffic signals at the busy intersections on 96th Street. Please pay extra attention to the signs, wait for the green light, and help us keep our heavy summer pedestrian traffic safe! 🚶‍♂️🚦

Let’s get ready for a fun, safe, and beautiful summer on Seven Mile Island! ⛱️

SCAM ALERT

Please see the below post from Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Sheriff Robert Nolan in regards to a recent telephone scam in which individuals are receiving calls from persons falsely claiming to be members of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office.

Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland together with Sheriff Robert Nolan are alerting residents to a recent telephone scam in which individuals are receiving calls from persons falsely claiming to be members of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office.

In these calls, the scammers tell victims that they owe money for fines or missed court appearances and threaten that a warrant will be issued for their arrest if payment is not made immediately. The callers often demand payment through unconventional methods such as gift cards, wire transfers, or other non-traditional means.

The Cape May County Sheriff’s Office and all law enforcement agencies do not contact individuals by phone to demand payment or threaten arrest in exchange for immediate payment. Law enforcement agencies will never request payment via gift cards, prepaid debit cards, or similar methods. Residents are advised to hang up immediately if they receive such a call and do not provide personal or financial information.

If you believe you have been the victim of this scam, please contact the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1135.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office urges all residents to remain vigilant and share this information with family members, particularly elderly relatives who are often targeted by these types of scams.
