🕯️💜 Remembering Lives. Honoring Victims. Standing Together.

The Stone Mountain Police Department was honored to attend the Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil hosted by In Safe Company (formerly WRDC).

During the ceremony, more than 155 names were read aloud, honoring victims ranging in age from just 10 weeks to 82 years old. Each name represented a life lost and a heartbreaking reminder of the impact of domestic violence.

We stand with survivors, remember those lost, and remain committed to supporting the mission to end domestic violence. 💜

💙 A Special Thank You on 9/11 🇺🇸

Today, the Stone Mountain Police Department received a thoughtful visit from Decatur Adventist Junior Academy. Their students and staff stopped by the precinct to deliver a basket filled with treats and, more importantly, to express their appreciation for our public safety professionals.

On a day when we pause to remember the lives lost and the extraordinary courage demonstrated on September 11, 2001, gestures like this carry special meaning.

The Stone Mountain Police Department is pleased to report that Sherry A. Wages, who was previously reported missing, has been located and is safe.

****UPDATE***** AUGUST 17, 2026
MISSING PERSON: Sherry Wages left her residence in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on or about March 18, 2026, and later drove to Georgia. The last known in-person contact with her was on May 27, 2026, at the Stone Mountain Post Office. Ms. Wages last had contact with her family via text on June 9, 2026. Stone Mountain Police Department received the case on August 10, 2026. Ms. Wages is reported to have mental health challenges, and she may be traveling with a dog described as a Shepherd mix. Ms. Wages’ vehicle has been described as a small, red Nissan.”
