This is the second multi building house fire in town since they closed the fire department which has only been 1 year. In this picture you can see this fire was 2 doors down from the old fire station. When will the residents step up and tell the village they want better protection?

Fire on the 1700 block of 35th Avenue in Stone Park.

Some of the citizens of Stone Park have worked very hard to get this point!! They have officially gotten one step closer to getting their fire department returned to them!! They have gotten the question to return the fire department put back on the ballot for April 6th’s election!! They still need your help!! The number 1 thing everyone needs to do in town is to get out and VOTE on April 6th!!!! The other thing they need help with is raising a little money so they can really get the word out to the residents over the next few weeks. The money will go towards flyer, signs and other tools to help get the information into the hands of the hard working men and women that can make the difference and return their fire department!!! The Stone Park firefighters are humbled for all of the support and kind words we have received even after almost a year of being closed. Thank you everyone.

Today a few of the final members that worked for Stone Park fire department came to Stone Park community center with 2 full trucks worth of clothes, food, shoes, blankets and other things for the residents that lost everything in the devastating fire last week. We were told they are no longer taking donations for the victims. We find it hard to believe that they have already collected enough things for roughly 20 people that have lost everything. We would like to thank everyone that donated to the cause and we assure you that we will donate all things collected to a local cause.

This is the out come to closing your department and contracting someone who doesn’t care. Sad day because the firefighters of Stone Park would have been happy to serve the citizens the way they deserved to be. The citizens lost multiple homes and left many homeless today.

03/17/2020

While you are going out to vote today please keep this fact In the back of your mind. While the Village is asking you to vote in closing the fire department and having Melrose Park take over the Stone Park Fire department has already responded to 2 calls in Melrose because they are too busy to run there own calls. PLEASE VOTE “NO”

03/17/2020

Thank you for all of the support we have been getting!!! Please remember to vote “NO” tomorrow to the referendum question on the last page. With the world health pandemic going on this is not the time to be without your own hometown fire department!!

03/16/2020

The village is trying to tell residents that Melrose Park will be cheaper. How can 5 full time firefighters making $100,000 with full benefits be cheaper than 3 part time firefighters that have no benefits? This is one of many questions the village should be answering.

Merry Christmas from all of the firefighters to you and your family’s!! We are here today to keep the citizens of Stone Park safe and heathy!!

This page is set up to help get information out to the residents of Stone Park!! We want everyone to know what’s going on with there fire department. I am sure by now you have heard that the village wants to shut down the fire department and contract it out. This all has come about because the firefighters decided to unionize. Well this is all true we did as a group decide to unionize our department to have a voice. We are not seeking to make more money but more so to be able to have a voice and make this a better and safer department for the firefighters and citizens of Stone Park. We the firefighters of Stone Park love serving and protecting the citizens of Stone Park. So please help and support us in keeping your villages fire department open and available to you in your time of need!! Please share this with other friends, family and residents. We will keep you up to date with what is going on and please show your support for your fire department!!
