Chaos of shuffling animals in and out during this weeks heatwave and rainstorms! Almost everyone had to be brought in for some cooling off! Had to hose down enclosures and use ice in front of fans for the squirrels, rabbits, chickens, ducks/geese and groundhogs, (except Monique who came in to be a couch potato), that stayed outside. The smaller skunks and the raccoons had to move into the rehab room because the sheds were like ovens. Then had to move them out just before a torrential rainstorm. I have a portable air unit but it’s just not right for the RVS shed and really need to get something permanent like a small heat pump but they are expensive so hoping to get donations to get one before the next heatwave and for future baby seasons so we can avoid all the shuffling!
