There is a scam using the Rondout Valley Food Pantry name.

We are not calling asking for donations or calling about expanding services that require you to provide your credit card information or social security number.

The proper channels for donations online are through our website, Venmo, PayPal and Square accounts. We do not solicit donations over the phone.

Social Security numbers are not required to be a guest and personal information is only needed at sign up and once a year after that, or if there is a change in information.

If anyone has received a call, or does receive a call, from someone claiming to be from the RVFP, asking for this information, please contact the NYS Troopers at 845-626-2800 to file a report and contact us at 845-687-4013.

Thank you Saunderskill Farm for hosting this event!!

We will have a large selection of these $25 10" hanging baskets for sale Friday, Saturday and Sunday! For each basket purchased, $5 will be donated to the Rondout Valley Food Pantry

This Magic Monday kicks off Volunteer Appreciation Week and we'll be spending the week shouting out to the crews that donate their time and talents to our incredible community! Hats off to this crew - Cheryl, Louis, Peggy, Gary, and Neal. These folks are part of our General Distribution team - shopping, packing and carrying out groceries for our guests. We are thankful for their big smiles and generous sprits!

It's Wishlist Wednesday!! And today it's all about the pantry closet! This is our 24/7 resource where folks can find what they need for every meal of the day. Here is a list of items we can use.

There's a lot about our pantry that we cherish and it may not be what people think. We are not "just" a pantry.

We are a community within our community. There's camaraderie and connection - with our guests, our volunteers, our donors and our staff. We share in each other's joys and sorrows and offer support through it all.

Maybe it's food, but maybe it's space to be heard or laughter or a "staff meeting" (coloring in the office ;) ). Maybe it's just being seen and knowing that you're part of a group that genuinely cares about each other.

Why am I writing this? Because recently so many of our people have been hit pretty hard and yet through it all they have people who have their backs. That they are not battling alone.

And that matters...

If you find yourself looking for the support of a community that not only provides food, but welcomes you, you will find it here.

Our hearts are with our folks who have suffered great losses recently and those that are facing medical and financial battles.

If any students, groups, or businesses would like to host a food drive, please give us a call or send us a text (845-687-4013). We are gearing up for our Children's Summer Breakfast/Lunch Program and are in need of sponsors/supporters.

The Ulster County Office for Aging Home Delivered Meal Program provides a weeks-worth of nutritious frozen meals delivered once a week to Seniors at NO cost. The meals served are planned by a registered dietitian and each meal provides one-third of a Senior’s daily nutritional needs.

Qualified Seniors must be:
• 60 years or age or older
• Ulster County resident with no other supports
• Unable to prepare meals
• Homebound due to incapacity or illness

Voluntary contributions are appreciated. Contributions
are confidential and no one will be denied a meal if
they do not contribute. The recommended voluntary
contribution is $3.00 per meal. If monthly income is
higher than 185% of the federal poverty level ($2,413
for a 1 person household and $3,261 for a 2 person
household), Seniors are offered the opportunity to
contribute the full cost of the meal which is $8.50

On this Thankful Thursday, as we wrap up our third busiest holiday week of the year, we would like to thank each of you who are a part of our food pantry community. You all hold special places in our hearts and make our world a better place, simply because you're in it. Our crew will be taking the next few days off, but the 24/7 cabinet will be open for you to shop as needed. Have the happiest of days ahead!
