Stoneham, Ma 300th Anniversary “To acknowledge and celebrate the history of Stoneham and its
people on its 300th anniversary and to inspire continued greatness into the next
century.”

Happy 300th Anniversary Stoneham! 300 years ago today, December 17, 1725, the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony decided to break off the northern section of Charlestown, known as Charlestown End, into a separate town to be known as Stoneham. Stoneham held its first Town Meeting on December 24, 1725. Among the first items voted on was to build a Meeting House, hire a minister and establish a burying ground.

Thank you to the SFD and the other department that came out to help, so that we could celebrate Stoneham!
