The 46th Annual Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry, Auction & Raffle is coming up, and we’re ready for another great evening with our community! ❤️🚒

For 46 years, this event has brought our community together to support the volunteers who answer the call when they’re needed. The continued generosity of our friends, neighbors, local businesses and visitors helps provide the equipment, training and resources we need to serve Stonewall and the surrounding area.

🚒❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO SIGNOR VINEYARDS! ❤️🚒

The Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Signor Vineyards for their incredibly generous donation of $2,316.00 to our department!

As a volunteer fire department, community support like this truly makes a difference. Donations help us purchase and maintain equipment, provide continued training for our members, and ensure we have the resources necessary to be ready when our community calls.

We are fortunate to live and serve in a community where local businesses not only call the Texas Hill Country home, but also choose to invest in the people who protect it.

🚒❤️ Mutual Aid Makes a Difference ❤️🚒

Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department Texas and Fredericksburg Fire EMS for their assistance with a structure fire last night.

Structure fires require manpower, equipment, water, and teamwork, and we are grateful to have neighboring departments willing to answer the call when additional resources are needed.

These are the moments that show just how important our mutual-aid partnerships are. Different departments, different communities—but when the call comes in, we work together with one goal: protecting lives and property.

Thank you to all of the firefighters and first responders who responded, worked together, and helped bring the incident under control safely.

We appreciate our neighbors at Johnson City VFD and Fredericksburg Fire EMS for always being willing to lend a hand when it matters most. 🚒❤️

Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s what mutual aid is all about.

🔥🚫 BURN BAN IN EFFECT — PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION 🚫🔥

With the Gillespie County Burn Ban currently in effect, Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind everyone that outdoor burning isn’t the only thing that can start a wildfire.

Our grass and vegetation are extremely dry, and activities such as mowing, shredding, welding, grinding, or operating equipment in dry fields can create enough heat or a single spark to ignite a fire.

🚜 If you’re mowing or shredding:
• Avoid cutting extremely dry grass during the hottest part of the day when possible.
• Watch for rocks, metal, or other objects that mower blades can strike and create sparks.
• Keep grass and debris from accumulating around hot engines and exhaust systems.
• Check equipment frequently for overheating or mechanical problems.
• Have a fire extinguisher and a water source nearby whenever possible.
• Stop immediately if you see or smell smoke.

🔥 One spark is all it takes.

Please use extra caution with ANY outdoor activity that could produce heat, flame, or sparks. A small fire in these conditions can quickly become a much larger emergency, threatening homes, property, livestock, and lives.

Help us protect Stonewall and Gillespie County by staying alert and doing your part to prevent the next fire before it starts.

If you see a fire or smoke that may be an emergency, call 911 immediately.

We have waited, hoping someone would reach out looking for the ring.

🔥🚫 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚫🔥

A Burn Ban is now in effect for Gillespie County.

With dry conditions continuing across our area, we ask everyone to please use extra caution and help us reduce the risk of preventable fires.

🔥 Please remember:
• Avoid outdoor burning while the ban is in effect.
• Use extreme caution with anything that could create a spark or flame.
• Be mindful when using equipment outdoors, especially around dry grass and vegetation.
• Properly dispose of smoking materials — never toss them from a vehicle.
• If you see a fire or smoke that may be an emergency, call 911 immediately.

It only takes one spark under the right conditions to start a fire that can quickly threaten homes, property, livestock, and lives.

Please help us keep Stonewall and Gillespie County safe. Share this post and help spread the word.

Our friends at Doss Volunteer Fire Department are getting ready for their 42nd Annual Fish Fry & Prize Drawing, and we’d love to see the Hill Country show up BIG for them!
