πŸš‘ No matter what’s on the agenda, duty comes first! πŸš‘

Tonight, during our monthly association meeting, Stony Point Ambulance Corps had 4 fully staffed crews ready to respond at a moment's notice.

Two of those crews hit the road on back-to-back calls, transporting patients out of area to both The Valley Hospital in Paramus and Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall in Newburgh!

Our dedicated volunteers also recently completed a transport over to NY Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital (pictured below).

Huge thank you to our incredible volunteer EMTs and drivers for putting in the extra miles to keep Stony Point safe and covered! 🚨❀️

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our Newest Graduate!

We are proud to congratulate Paige Salerno on successfully completing her Summer Intensive EMT course!

This achievement reflects more than 200 hours of instruction, hands-on training, and countless late nights of studying, all completed in an accelerated program that demands dedication, resilience, and commitment. Paige has also done an outstanding job applying her knowledge in the field while serving alongside our crews.

While the journey continues with the New York State certification exam ahead, we are incredibly proud of everything Paige has accomplished and look forward to supporting her every step of the way. Congratulations on reaching this major milestone, Paige. We’re cheering you on! πŸ’™πŸš‘

🚨 COMMUNITY SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

Stony Point Ambulance Corp has recently responded to a significant increase in overdose-related emergency calls within our area. We care deeply about the health and safety of our neighbors, and we want to urge everyone in our community to exercise extreme caution.

If you or someone you know uses substances, please be aware of what you are consuming. Counterfeit pills and illicit substances are increasingly being laced with lethal amounts of synthetic opioids like fentanyl, often without the user's knowledge.

Important Safety Reminders:
-Never use alone: Ensure someone is with you who can call for help.
-Carry Naloxone (Narcan): It saves lives and reverses opioid overdoses in emergencies.
-Call 911 immediately: If you suspect an overdose, do not hesitate. Seconds count, and Good Samaritan laws protect those seeking medical assistance.

We are here for you 24/7, but we want you to stay safe.

Please look out for yourself and one another. ❀️

*** Part 3 of 3 ***
To wrap up our busy summer recap, we are shifting our focus to an incredible opportunity to give back directly to our community! 🩸✨

On Wednesday, July 15th, we are hosting an agency Blood Drive right here at our station! πŸ₯ Every single donation has the power to save up to three lives, and with summer blood shortages being incredibly common, your donation is needed now more than ever.

Check out the flyer attached to this post for all the details on how to sign up, scheduling times, and eligibility. πŸ—“οΈπŸ‘‡

Whether you are a regular donor or looking to give for the very first time, we would love to see you at the station supporting this vital cause alongside our members. Let’s come together and make a massive impact! πŸ’ͺ❀️

*** Part 2 of 3 ***
Our busy summer continues! 🎑 For the past four nights, our agency has been out in full force providing EMS coverage and handling community relations at the Stony Point America’s 250th Carnival! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβœ¨

Throughout the event, over 20 of our dedicated volunteers have stepped up and given their time to ensure everyone staying, playing, and celebrating at the carnival remains safe. πŸš‘β€οΈ

We will be right back out there again tonight! If you have nothing going on, come on down, enjoy the rides, and make sure to stop by our tent to visit the crew. We have our brand-new t-shirts and special 80th Anniversary challenge coins for sale! πŸͺ™πŸ‘•

🀝 A Special Thank You to Our Partners:
We want to extend a massive thank you to our brothers and sisters at the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps for providing their rehab cooling tent to help keep everyone safe from the summer heat! πŸŒ¦οΈβ„οΈ

We also want to thank Rockland Paramedic Services (RPS) for their continued paramedic support and dedication to our community alongside our crews. 🩺πŸ’ͺ

From community outreach to emergency standby, we love supporting Stony Point. Come say hello tonight, and stay tuned for our final summer recap in Part 3! πŸŒ…

*** Part 1 of 3 ***

Our members have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks! πŸ—“οΈ Between major agency milestones, community outreach, and everyday emergency coverage, June and July have been a whirlwind of activity. To kick off our three-part summer recap, we are celebrating a very special evening for our agency. ✨

We hosted our Bi-Annual Installation and Member Appreciation Dinner! It was a beautiful night to step back, celebrate our history, and recognize the incredible dedication of our volunteers. πŸ₯‚πŸ½οΈ

During the ceremony, our new operational leadership team was officially sworn in. Please join us in congratulating:

πŸŽ–οΈ Captain Melissa Marcialis
πŸŽ–οΈ First Lieutenant Alexandra Manigo
πŸŽ–οΈ Second Lieutenant Mike Mandikas
πŸŽ–οΈ Second Lieutenant Simi Rosen
πŸŽ–οΈ Second Lieutenant Gina Tirri

After the formal presentation, our members finally got to trade their uniforms for evening wear! Everyone hit the dance floor, enjoyed some fantastic food, and had an amazing time celebrating as an agency family. πŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ

πŸš‘ A Special Thank You: We want to extend a massive shoutout and thank you to our neighbors at the William P. Faist Ambulance Corps for covering our town during the dinner. Because of your crew standing by, our members were able to fully relax, celebrate, and enjoy the night knowing our community was in great hands! 🀝❀️

Thank you to everyone who makes our mission possible, and stay tuned for Part 2 of our summer recap! πŸŒ…
