The Iowa Court Appointed Special Advocate Program recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to serve as an effective voice in court for abused and neglected children, strengthening efforts to ensure that each child is living in a safe, permanent and nurturing home. The Court Appointed Special Advocate is typically assigned one case at a time and does a variety of things to promote the chi

ld's best interests: investigation, assessment, facilitation, monitoring and advocacy. CASAs are recruited to serve in all 99 Iowa counties.
