Today, we're announcing that we're expanding our Streamside Buffer Initiative to reach more Iowa farmers and landowners in priority areas across the state. This buffer program is more flexible than existing federal cost-share programs and allows working lands to remain working while still protecting our soil and water.

By targeting conservation where it can make the biggest impact, we're continuing to accelerate and invest in Iowa's farmer-led, science-based approach to improve water quality.

Part-Time SWCD Technician – The candidate must have the ability to learn and understand new computer programs and input computer data. Perform layout, survey, design, and inspection of conservation practices in a learning capacity and assist with conservation planning. Candidate must be able to walk in rough terrains. 2026 tree sales have begun! We will be taking orders until March 15 or until stock runs out. Trees will be available for pick up in the first part of April. The office will notify you once the pick up date is finalized.
