Power restored to our North feeder.
Timberland drive and Riverside Bible Camp have yet to be restored. If you are without power and not in one of those locations, please call our office. 515-733-4691

UPDATE: 7:50PM

Crews are clearing multiple trees from power lines and hope to have power restored within the next hour. Thank you for your patience. Please continue to stay away from downed power lines and call 911 to report emergencies.

We are aware of a widespread power outage affecting multiple areas. Our crews are responding and will begin restoring power as quickly as possible.

For the safety of our employees and the public, repairs can only be made when conditions are safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore service.

As a reminder, if you have an emergency involving smoke, fire, or the smell of natural gas, call 911 immediately. Do not wait for utility crews to arrive.

Story City Municipal Electric will be doing necessary switching on our main feeders. In order to cause the least possible inconvenience for our customers, this will begin at midnight on July 16th (Thursday night-Friday Morning). Outage will be widespread and should last less than 30 minutes with the possibility of up to 1 hour. Affected areas will include all city and rural properties west of the Skunk River and most of Jacobson Park.

High winds caused a large tree branch to fall on a power line, resulting in an outage. Our crews are working safely to make repairs and restore power as quickly as possible.
