Cancelled 08/01/2026 at 8:30am.

A burning ban will begin at 12 pm today (July 21st, 2026). With extremely dry conditions and limited precipitation in the weather forecast, the town board voted at last night’s board meeting to institute the ban. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

Solar Meeting Update:

Monday’s commercial solar meeting was well attended with over 80 attendees plus another 15 attending virtually. The four towns of Porter, Fulton, Albion and Dunkirk provided their own experiences with commercial solar operations and listened to comments from the large crowd in attendance. The four townships agreed to form a joint committee to address the growing concerns. At the end of the meeting, attendees were asked to raise their hands if they were against the solar project. Approximately 95% raised their hands in opposition.
