Great to see Nick's feature!!
It's "Meet Your Council Member Monday"!
Name: Nick Lowe
Office: Past President
Chapter: Stoughton FFA Alumni & Supporters
Section: 5
Why do you choose to serve on the State Council?
It fulfils my desire to volunteer above the local level. I love to network and idea share, to communicate the great news of local chapters but also what the state has to offer to local chapters. Plus, I get to volunteer and serve with the best of the best our Wisconsin FFA Alumni has to offer. Our state council is diverse, and I enjoy meetings and working along all council members from all over the state!
What is your favorite activity to participate in as an FFA Alumni member - local, state or national?
Local: Stoughton Alumni fundraising in our food stand, and volunteering at the Stoughton Junior Fair as a Beef Dept Co-Superintendent; State event would be State FFA Convention where I serve as an officer judge, and also the State FFA Alumni Convention in February; National level would definitely be the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis!!!
Why should someone join their local FFA Alumni?
If you have that drive inside, that need to volunteer, why not join the FFA Alumni and Supporters? Let's support these young individuals who are going to not only be our future leaders, but also put food on our tables, take care of animals small and large, and also care for our natural resources that we have on this planet. Besides, I remind former FFA members of a quote I said years ago: "Now is my time to give back to the organization that gave me so much!"
Who inspired your involvement in FFA/FFA Alumni and Supporters?
Easy answer, but there are MANY people that inspired me. My parents to start, they installed the volunteer spirit in me at a young age. Second would be my FFA Advisor Mr. Jerry Wendt. 3rd is my girlfriend Missy L, and her daughter Khammi; for which I have had the pleasure to introduce both of them to the FFA and FFA Alumni, plus to have the opportunity to be a mentor to an outstanding FFA member such as Khammi, really inspires me in my FFA Alumni volunteering role.
