Hello Stoughton residents! Once again it is going to snow on Friday February 25, 2022. There will be NO TRASH OR RECYCLING PICKUP on Friday. We will be picking up Friday's trash and recycling on Monday February 28th along with Monday's route. All trash and recycling MUST BE OUT BY 7AM.

The town will have the Council on Aging Center which is located at 110 Rockland Street open on SUNDAY as a warming center for those residents who may need it. Stay safe!

Due to the snowstorm we are expecting Fridays trash and recycling is canceled. If your trash and recycling is normally picked up this Friday please have it out by 7 AM on Monday morning for pick up. Monday will include Friday’s pick up and the regular Monday route. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the public works department. Stay safe

Gay Street will be open for chippable brush, leaves, grass clippings and small limbs no bigger than 4" in diameter on every Saturday in November starting November 6th from 8-3. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call Public Works. Thank you

If any Stoughton resident has any perishable food items that need to be disposed of there will be a trash truck available here at the Stoughton Public works. You can bring it up here and put it in the back of the trash truck.

Town trash will still be picked up today 10/27/21. As a reminder trash needs to be out by 7am on your trash day.

Any information you may need regarding when the power in town will be back on you will need to contact National Grid.

One of our employees came across a exotic bird on the road at Ames Pond. The dog officer is not in so he took the bird to Lloyd’s Animal Hospital. If anyone is missing a bird please contact them at 781-344-2500.

The Public Works Dept will be closed Friday, June 18, 2021 - Observance of Juneteenth Holiday. Friday trash and recycling will be picked up on Monday, June 21, 2021 along with Monday trash and recycling. Please have trash and recycling out by 7 am. We will not be going back if it was put out late! Have a great weekend!!!!!

There will be no trash or recycling pickup on Monday, April 19th because of Patriots Day. Monday trash and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, April 20th along with Tuesday trash and recycling. Please have trash and recycling out by 7 am. Thank you. ☺️

Leaf/Brush Disposal

For five Saturdays (4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22) from 8 am to 3 pm. at the Gay St pit (behind Meads Meadow) will be open to residents for leaf disposal and chippable brush. There will be 3 trash trucks available. All containers will have to be dumped (there will be a barrel for bags, etc.). The Recycling Center will continue to be open Saturdays from 8 am to 4pm for leaves and grass clippings.

***** UPDATE **** If your trash day is tomorrow Tuesday February 2 it is cancelled. Your trash will be picked up the following Tuesday.

PLEASE do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. Cleaing pads, paper towels, and wipes are clogging our sewer system. Please put these items in your trash. Thank you !

The Public Works will be collecting Christmas trees the month of January. The pick up days will be on your recycle days. Please remember there can not be any decorations or stands on the trees. Thank you!

THURSDAY TRASH/RECYCLING POSTPONED

Due to the storm on Thursday, trash and recycling will be picked up on Friday. Friday trash and recycling will also be picked up so we will not be going back. Please make sure it is out by 7am. You can always bring it to 950 Central St if you miss it.

Do not leave your barrels out all night as it will be covered in snow.

I would suggest drilling holes in the bottom of the barrels to allow water to drain so they don't fill up and freeze.

Accepting Applications

The Stoughton Microenterprise Business Assistance Grant Program CV-19 is Accepting Applications. The intent of the grant is to assist microenterprises (5 or fewer employees including the owner) that have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Grants of up to $10,000 are available. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis as long as funding remains available.

It is recommended that you read the Guidelines first
to review eligibility requirements and allowed use of funds.

A day to honor and thank all who served for our Country!

Town Offices and DPW will be closed so if it is your trash/recycling day is tomorrow, your trash will be picked up on Thursday morning, try and have it out no later than 7am as the guys will be starting earlier.

Thursday's schedule will be picked up right after Wednesday's route is complete.

Friday's route will remain the same..

LEAF/BRUSH DISPOSAL - Save the dates!

Saturday’s November 7, 14, 21, 28 & Dec 5, 2020

Time : from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Gay Street pit (behind Meads Meadow)

For: Leaf disposal and chippable brush. Residents Stoughton Residents only -No Commercial Vehicles, box trucks or landscape vehicles.

Acceptable Items include chippable brush and bagged or barreled leaves.

NO Grass Clippings – those can be disposed of at the Stoughton Recycling Center at 100 Page St

The Recycling Center will continue to be open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hydrant Flushing is coming to end!!

Week of October 26, 2020 will start at 9pm and continue until 3am. If you experience "dirty" water please run the cold water in the tub for a few minutes until it clears.

Wednesday will be finishing 18 & working on 19
Thursday will be section 19 if not complete

In lieu of our traditional Haunted Hayride, join us for a night of spooks and scares in our Haunted Drive-Through! YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE but can arrive anytime between 5:30-8:00 pm. Drive through the route lined with scary scenes in your own car and enjoy a free community Halloween activity social distance style. The later you arrive, the spookier it gets!
