๐Ÿš’ Annual Pump Testing in progress ๐Ÿš’

The members of the Stovall Volunteer Fire Department are currently in progress of completing our annual pump testing on our fire apparatusโ€™s . This testing ensures that each truckโ€™s pump is operating at peak performance and meeting required standards.

Regular pump testing is a critical part of our commitment to providing reliable fire protection to our community. By verifying proper water flow, pressure, and overall functionality, we can be confident that our equipment is ready when you need us most.

A big thank you MESFire and to all of our members who assisted with this process and continue to dedicate their time to keeping our department prepared.

As always, we are proud to serve and protect the Stovall community.

With this much needed rain, please use extra caution when traveling. Several roads throughout the area, including US Hwy 15 in front of the Stovall Volunteer Fire Department, currently have excessive water over the roadway.

Please slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and never attempt to drive through standing water if you cannot determine the depth.

Stay safe, Stovall! ๐Ÿš’

Congratulations to Daquan โ€œDJโ€ Strong, the SVFD Member of the Month! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿš’

DJ has gone above and beyond this month by showing up and stepping up wherever help was needed.

From assisting with our extrication training to helping support live burn training hosted at our burn facility for neighboring departments, DJ has demonstrated dedication to training, teamwork, and strengthening the fire service.

A true leader we are very thankful to have on our team!

๐Ÿš’ High Fire Danger: While the burn ban has been lifted, high fire danger is back for Tuesday and Wednesday across most of the state. Hot, dry conditions, with some lighter to moderate winds, will keep fire danger high across the state, along with soil drying.

Humidity levels ramp up Thursday into the weekend along with increasing showers/storm chances at least in hit or miss fashion so after Wednesday the fire danger should decrease again.

RALEIGH โ€“ The N.C. Forest Service has lifted a ban on all open burning for 81 counties effective 8 a.m. Sunday, May 3. The statewide ban on open burning went into effect March 28 due to hazardous forest fire conditions, and the ban remains in effect for Alamance, Anson, Cabarrus, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stanly, Stokes and Union counties until further notice.

โ€œThe recent rainfall has provided some relief and has moderated fire danger enough for us to lift the ban on open burning in 81 counties,โ€ said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. โ€œHowever, weโ€™re still in the thick of spring wildfire season when conditions can change quickly and frequently. We still need rain to move us forward with drought recovery, improving soil moisture and water levels. Be extremely vigilant with any outdoor burning if youโ€™re in one of the 81 counties no longer under the state-issued ban. Make sure you have a valid burn permit, tools and a water source, and stay with your fire

Thank you Stovall Shaw Elementary School for inviting us to Career Day!

We had a wonderful time speaking with everyone and sharing fire safety information. The students asked great questions, enjoyed learning about our gear, and of course loved taking home some firefighter swag!

Weโ€™re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with our community, not just during emergencies, but on fun days like today.

Are you interested in being part of something bigger? Join us and make a difference right here at home. Reach out to learn more about volunteering with SVFD. ๐Ÿš’
