We are happy to report that power is being restored throughout the city.

After the severe storm left many homes, businesses, and properties damaged, our community responded in a way that truly speaks to who we are. What could have been a moment of chaos quickly turned into one of unity, strength, and compassion.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to all of the agencies and individuals who stepped up without hesitation. To Morgan County E-911, our dispatchers were overwhelmed with calls, yet never wavered and continued to serve with strength and professionalism. To Mid-Mo Ambulance District, Morgan County Emergency Management, and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, your dedication and teamwork did not go unnoticed.

To the emergency response teams, the crews working tirelessly to restore power, and every single person who played a role in keeping our community safe, we are beyond grateful.

And to our citizens… thank you. The amount of calls offering help, volunteering time, and checking on neighbors was something truly special. Strangers helping strangers, neighbors looking out for one another, people showing up however they could… it was powerful to witness.

Thank you to everyone who came together to help our city in its time of need.

Please remember the cleanup process is still ongoing, and your cooperation and continued patience is appreciated.

Our local Casey’s has generously offered a helping hand to our community. If anyone is in need of clean drinking water, please comment on this original post or message the Stover Police Department page directly. They plan to have water shipped in to help, but would like a head count to know who all is in need.

The Stover Police Department is currently working alongside multiple agencies to clear roadways, restore power, and remove hazards following last night’s storm.

⚠️ For your safety, please DO NOT cut or move any debris, trees, or limbs that are in contact with power lines. Ameren has established crews to handle these situations. Attempting to do this yourself could result in severe injury or even death, as some lines may still be live or backfed from generators.

At this time, we understand that Ameren will be providing updates to customers regarding restoration timelines shortly.

We ask everyone to please be mindful of all crews working in the area and avoid contact with anything touching power lines.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

We are urging people to stay off of the roadways in Stover at this time unless absolutely necessary. Roadways are getting clogged and it is causing hazards to our first responders trying to clear the roadways. There are several live power lines and large debris crossing highway 52 and city streets. Please be careful if you must travel.

UPDATE
Highway 52 at the east city limits is closed through to Versailles due to power lines being down across the roadway. Find an alternate route.
We are working quickly to resolve this issue!

We understand that the city is without power and there are lines and trees down. We are working quickly with other agencies to ensure everyone is safe. Please be careful and use alternate routes.
