It has been a long time since we’ve posted. Mostly that’s due to some changes coming with our social media presence.
However, it is National EMS Week. Some would say it’s a week to congratulate ourselves for the work we do, yet there are few that endure what it takes to get into this work for self aggrandizement.
EMS week can be about so many things! This year’s National EMS Week slogan is “Stronger Together.” Well, that is certainly true!
In Stowe, VT, we are fortunate to truly have togetherness when it comes to Public Service. We are also fortunate to have strong Public Safety Mutual Aid partners in our neighboring towns. But the togetherness extends to our entire community. Every person that keeps their phone where it belongs while driving, every advocate for helmets while cycling, every person that takes a CPR Course, anyone that looks in on a neighbor after a storm or during an extended power outage, every driver on the road that pulls to the right and comes to a complete stop when they see emergency lights or hears a siren, everyone that ventures into the backcountry prepared; every one of you contribute to the greater good. Thanks for being part of the team!
If you know someone that serves their community in EMS, give them a nod, say thanks. Know that they don’t do ALL they do for your thanks, for praise, for notoriety.
But when was the last time “thank you” hurt anyone?
Let this serve as a solute to all that serve, or are prepared to help.
We are Stonger Together, Happy EMS Week!
