UPDATE:

The incident has been resolved. All roadways are open.

MEDIA RELEASE:

There is an active incident involving a propane leak near the intersection of Mountain Rd and Weeks Hill Rd. Evacuations may occur in nearby buildings. There are road closures present, to include on Weeks Hill Rd, Mountain Rd and the Stowe Recreation Path. Please avoid the area and listen to emergency personnel. Updates will be provided.

UPDATE:

The incident has been resolved. An individual wanted on charges stemming from an isolated incident tonight had fled the scene. The individual has been located and was taken into custody.

MEDIA RELEASE:

There is an ongoing police incident developing in the area of South Main Street. This will include law enforcement from neighboring departments, including the activation of the drone and K-9 unit. We are asking for you to avoid the area if possible.

PRESS RELEASE:

OFFENSE: Simple Assault - Disorderly Conduct

ACCUSED: Brett Dotson, age 44

OFFICER: Ofc. Destiny Santaw

SUMMARY: On 5/29/2026 at approximately 9:17 PM, Sgt. Pray and Ofc. Santaw responded to an establishment on Mountain Road for a report of an intoxicated person who had assaulted a staff member. Upon arrival, SPD immediately located Brett Dotson, who was found to be heavily intoxicated and uncooperative. Dotson was ultimately taken into custody for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct and was later lodged under protective custody.

PRESS RELEASE:

OFFENSE: DUI - Violation of Conditions of Release - Driving Under Criminal Suspension

ACCUSED: Matthew Austin-Bradley, age 37

OFFICER: Sgt. Dustin Pray

SUMMARY: On 7/6/2026 at approximately 10:12 PM, Sgt. Pray and Ofc. Cattelona responded to the town of Johnson to assist the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department (LCSD) locate a vehicle that was reported to have been driving on sidewalks and through yards. LCSD was unable to initially respond due to unrelated calls for service. SPD located the vehicle on Lower Main Street E in Johnson. Sgt. Pray quickly observed that the operator, Matthew Austin-Bradley, was exhibiting signs of intoxication. Austin-Bradley was also found to be operating on a criminally suspended license and in violation of court ordered conditions of release. Matthew Austin-Bradley was subsequently arrested for the above offenses.
