We are heartbroken over the loss of Sgt. Ronald Audet from Morristown Police Department. Sgt. Audet was a true public servant who served his country and community. He had a significant positive impact on all of Vermont law enforcement. We were privileged enough to work with him and learn from him.

PRESS RELEASE:

OFFENSE: DUI

ACCUSED: James Johnson, age 44

OFFICER: Ofc. Destiny Santaw

SUMMARY: On 5/21/2026 at approximately 10:31 PM, Ofc. Santaw conducted a traffic stop on Pucker Street after observing a motor vehicle infraction. Ofc. Santaw observed indicators of impairment while speaking to the operator. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of James Johnson for DUI.

OFFENSE: Driving While Suspended

ACCUSED: Benjamin Rymarski, age 47

OFFICER: Ofc. Michael Stengel

SUMMARY: On 5/21/2026 at approximately 7:18 AM, Ofc. Stengel conducted a traffic stop on Maple Street for an observed infraction. During the stop it was learned that the operator had a criminally suspended license. Benjamin Rymarski was charged with driving with a suspended license (DLS).

ACCUSED: Somjit Suk-In, age 48

OFFICER: Ofc. Destiny Santaw

SUMMARY: On 5/16/2026 at approximately 12:20 AM, Stowe PD officers responded to a dispute on Luce Hill Road. Prior to arrival, one of the involved individuals left the scene and was reported to be intoxicated. Ofc. Santaw located the vehicle and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, Ofc. Santaw observed indicators of impairment while speaking to the operator. Somjit Suk-In was ultimately placed in custody for DUI.

OFFENSE: Unlawful Trespass

ACCUSED: Rita Licari, age 48

OFFICER: Ofc. Brenden Marrier

SUMMARY: On 5/7/2026 at approximately 2:59 PM, SPD officers were dispatched to a residence in Sylvan Woods for a report of a possible break-in. Upon arrival, officers were notified that a known individual, Rita Licari, had walked into a residence when the homeowners were not home. A subsequent investigation confirmed that Licari did not have permission to enter the residence. Rita Licari was charged with Unlawful Trespass.

OFFENSE: Crack-Cocaine Sales (more than one ounce) / Crack-Cocaine Possession (more than one ounce)

ACCUSED: Elizabeth Buska, age 48

OFFICER: Det. Sgt. Daniel Wierzbicki

SUMMARY: In December 2025, Det. Sgt. Wierzbicki began an investigation into the possession of drugs. A series of search warrants led to the discovery of over 40 grams of crack-cocaine, over $2,000 in cash and other paraphernalia consistent with drug distribution. On 5/12/2026, Elizabeth Buska was located in the Chittenden County area and was charged with possession and sales of more than one ounce of crack-cocaine.
