Join Spruce Peak Arts and Stowe Free Library TONIGHT AT 6 PM for an intimate evening of poetry with Elaine Sexton — poet, educator, and librettist of The Post Office, a bold new chamber opera premiering at Spruce Peak Arts on May 7th before traveling to Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Elaine will read from the opera's libretto, newly published in book form by Grid Books, and lead an open conversation about the intersection of poetry, music, and civic life. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Spruce Peak Arts will provide refreshments. This is a rare opportunity to meet one of the creative voices behind a landmark new American opera — in the warmth of our community library, three days before its world premiere.

We had a bit of a surprise visitor today! This adventurous girl managed to slip through the doors and decided our fiction section was the perfect spot for a nap.

After a quick orientation and a VIP tour of the stacks, we officially named her Catniss.

We eventually had to send her back on her outdoor adventures. May the odds be ever in her favor. 🐈
