Over the next few weeks members of Stowe Fire Rescue with be conducting annual dry hydrant testing. Dry hydrants are critical water supply points in rural areas without municipal hydrants and help ensure firefighters have reliable access to water during emergencies. We thank all members of the community that have installed dry hydrants in their ponds.
If anyone is interested in installing a dry hydrant please contact us at the Fire Rescue Building for details.

Today members of Stowe Fire Rescue had the opportunity to visit Mountain Village School.
The children were able to meet the Firefighter/EMT’s, learn about our fire engine and ambulance.
Community outreach and fire prevention education are an important part of what we do, and we always enjoy connecting with the younger members of our community.
Thank you to Mountain Village School for welcoming us today and allowing is to share a little about what we do at Stowe Fire Reasue

🚒 NEW TANKER 1 NOW IN SERVICE 🚒

Stowe Fire Rescue is proud to announce that our new Tanker 1 has officially been placed into service.

This apparatus replaces our previous tanker 1 and brings improved capabilities to support fire suppression operations throughout the Town of Stowe, especially in areas without hydrant coverage. The new tanker also has the ability to function as a pumping apparatus, giving our crews greater versatility on emergency scenes.

With only a limited portion of Stowe having hydrant access, tankers play a critical role in supplying water during rural firefighting operations. This addition helps improve our operational readiness, safety, and ability to serve the community effectively.

We would also like to sincerely thank the taxpayers and residents of Stowe for their continued support of Stowe Fire Rescue. Investments like this help ensure our members have the tools and equipment needed to protect the community safely and effectively.

Thank you as well to all the members involved in the planning, equipment transfer, training, and preparation that helped place Tanker 1 into service.
Better pictures to come when weather is better!!

Please help us welcome the new Tanker 1 to the fleet! 🇺🇸🚒

It is National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week!

The individuals that do this work are completely behind the scenes, yet so integral.

Thank you to the entire staff of the Lamoille County Communications Center at the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department for keeping us all connected. We appreciate that you are the first point of contact , and that then after you are the connectivity to the continuity of care.

In this author’s 28 years of work in Lamoille County Emergency Services, the Lamoille County Sheriff's Dept (LCSD), or the Lamoille County Communications Center, has been integral to the success of Public Safety throughout our region. In this provider’s experience what started with "George and Gary” and previously included a “Webster” for a stint over time also included a “ Barry, Darren, Adam, Heidi, etc.”. This group has had a profound impact on the effective delivery of public safety services throughout our region. No names have been excluded purposefully; more so, that is a testament to how much the staff has needed to grow/ to change to accomplish similar levels of service and how many more people you now need to have in service to accomplish the same. (Other notables: Noah, Happy, Ashley, Tanner, etc.).

Thank you for being the partners you are, thank you for your efforts.

On Sunday, April 12th, members of the Stowe Community Church and their Board of Directors visited Stowe Fire Rescue to learn about fire safety and the proper use of fire extinguishers.

The visit included a tour of our facility and apparatus, along with hands-on discussion focused on emergency preparedness.

We would like to thank them for taking the time to better prepare themselves in the event of an emergency, and for their continued outpouring of support for all Stowe emergency services.
