Now that the dust has settled on another amazing Strafford Fourth of July, the Strafford Fire Department would like to take a moment to thank everyone for your support of our annual Chicken BBQ. Thanks to all of the 500 customers who came and bought chicken, to the volunteer pie bakers who delivered incredible desserts, to all the friends and relatives who helped to prepare salads, desserts, serve, and stir corn. A special shout out to Laura Lewis who has managed the plating and preparing of the desserts for so many years, to Cassie Maclay who carries on the multigenerational tradition of making the chicken sauce, and of course to our pitmaster Tom Root who has worked the chicken BBQ for 50 years!!! We could not make this annual event happen without all these amazing people and are so grateful to the town for showing up and supporting us.
