The WCFR 10-A-Day Challenge is not just a campaign - it's a call to action, and the community's participation will make a real difference!
Warren County Fire and Rescue is continuing its partnership with the American Red Cross—West Virginia Region, Central Appalachia - to launch the "Sound the Alarm, Save a Life" campaign. The campaign aims to install 50,000 free smoke alarms throughout the month of April.
Every day, seven lives are tragically lost due to home fires, but working smoke alarms can significantly reduce this risk by 50%.
WCFR's effort to reduce the number of deaths from home fires inspired the WCFR 10-A-Day Challenge. The challenge aims to educate and install free smoke alarms in homes throughout Warren County.
WCFR's "10-A-Day Campaign" will challenge their staffed stations to visit a minimum of ten homes, provide smoke alarm education to ten people, inspect ten existing smoke alarms for placement, operating condition, and adequate date, and install a minimum of ten smoke alarms.
WCFR has set a crucial goal for this campaign: to install at least 490 smoke alarms, at least 70 per day. This is not just a number, it's a significant step towards ensuring the safety of our community! To reach this goal, WCFR crews will canvass local neighborhoods from Sunday, April 14, through Saturday, April 20, 2024.
If you want to help, call WCFR at (540) 636-3830 or visit www.warrencountyfire.com to schedule a free home and life safety inspection and smoke alarm installation. Your small action can make a big difference!
