Monday night, the volunteers at Strasburg along with our brothers at Quarryville Fire Company completed the Silo Emergency Operations Class. The class completed with a simulated patient removal from a silo. This training allowed for the volunteers to sharpen their rope skills by practicing with a realistic scenario. We would like to extend a thank you to Rescue Techs, LLC for hosting the class.

The memorial service for Greg Lutz will take place at Strasburg Fire Company in the community room on Saturday June 13th at 2 PM. All are welcome to attend.

It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Greg Lutz.

Greg was a long time member of the Strasburg Fire Company #1. Greg served in many capacities including President and as an Assistant Chief.

For many years Greg was the voice of the mud sale, making announcements on the pa system throughout the day of our mud sale.

Greg we will always appreciate the time and devotion you provided to the Strasburg Fire Company #1, our community and as one of our brothers. You will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers also go out to Greg's family. As much as Greg is a part of the firehouse family, you too are one of our own.

Gregory Paul Lutz, 70, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Lancaster, PA passed away on May 23, 2026 at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital after a sudden illness. Greg was born

Today, the volunteers of the Strasburg Fire Company, along with some of our Brothers from the Quarryville Fire Company, completed Day 1 of the Silo Emergency Operations Class. It was an uplifting experience to sharpen our rope rescue skills!
