Congratulations LT. Mecozzi! Enjoy your retirement!

Last night, Lieutenant James Mecozzi celebrated his 25th anniversary with the Stratford Fire Department. It was also his last shift before retirement.

Jim started in 1997 and spent over 20 years at Headquarters Company 1. For the last 4 years, he has been the Senior Station Lieutenant at Engine Company 4 in Oronoque.

Over his 25 year career, Mecoz was a mentor and teacher to all who knew him. He was instrumental in our Marine Rescue program and has logged many hours working on our boats.

On behalf of Local 998, we will miss your knowledge and leadership Jim, but most of all we will miss the laughs and fun.

May you have a long and healthy retirement!!

Careful where you park; hot undercarriages can spark a wildfire on tall weeds and dry grass!
