Stratford public beaches are closed today, Friday August 21, 2026, due to excessive rainfall exceeding 1 inch over the last 24 hours. Stratford public beaches will tentatively be reopened for swimming on Saturday August 22, 2026. The public will be notified to confirm reopening.

The Stratford Arts Commission is proud to present Pop Up Planters 2026, a true community effort and a public street art exhibit featuring 12 artistically rendered planters. The Pop Up Planters 2026 are located along Main Street, from Paradise Green to the Stratford Library, a perfect walking tour and exhibit!

Thank you to Shannon Landscape & Garden Center for providing the perennials. And thank you to the Stratford Beautification Commission for planting them with care and visual beauty. Feel free to snap selfies at the planter boxes and share them on social media. Also, stay tuned, as the planter boxes will be auctioned off at the Pumpkin Festival in October to support students in Stratford through scholarships and grants! More information to come.
