**Shirt Scam**

A company called Trenddy Tee, also goes by the name GearLaunch, has been sending spam text messages with a link to a website that is selling shirts with area fire department logos or patches on them. SAFD DOES NOT support, nor endorses, the use of our department name or patch in this promotion.

Buyer beware.

On this 20th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we reflect on and remember the events of that day. We remember all the lives lost, civilians and first responders, never forgetting the 343 FDNY, 37 PAPD, 23 NYPD and 8 private EMS responders who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget what happened.

Outstanding work by all involved with today’s cardiac arrest save. SAFD members were able to achieve ROSC on a patient today, by performing high quality CPR and use of an AED.

6/17 - SEMS Medic/Supervisor Brophy and EMT Blumstein were dispatched to a 67 yo cardiac arrest with CPR in progress. Upon their arrival PT had been defibrillated twice by Sikorsky Fire on scene with assistance from Stratford Fire Dept first responders and they had achieved ROSC. A STEMI heart attack was quickly identified as the underlying cause by Medic Brophy and PT was transported directly to Bridgeport Hospital Cath Lab per his own request! The PT was completely alert and mostly oriented during transport and was able to provide all of his own demographics and medical information! Great Job to all involved!

**Delayed** It is with deep sorrow, Sikorsky Aircraft Fire Department announces the passing of Retired Firefighter Ken Lyke. Ken was one of the first EMT/Paramedics in the State of Connecticut and spent many years serving the New Haven area with a few different ambulance services. Thanks to Ken’s skill, many people got a second chance at life. Ken retired from SAFD in 2015, after serving over 30 years at Sikorsky. Ken was also active with the Orange Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Management Office and CERT. Rest In Peace, Brother! You will be missed!

(Delayed Post) With the heat we are experiencing, remember to stay hydrated and don’t allow yourself to overheat. Take frequent breaks while working outside. Also, if you are trying to cool off out on the water, please be safe. Follow all safety recommendations/regulations put out by CT DEEP and the US Coast Guard. (Pictured Below) SAFD members have been taking advantage of the weather, conducting rescue and recovery training on the Housatonic River.

On May 15th, Addison came into the firehouse to meet the firefighters who conducted the fundraising that allowed her wish to be granted. Addison is a Make-A-Wish child who will be going to Disney World thanks to Sikorsky employees, and other citizens, who purchased holiday shirts this past December.
