Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club - SFEC Fishing and Environmental club Welcome to the Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club. The Club is made up of terrific men and women.

We are an organization of approximately 180 people with a common interest in fishing, boating, the artificial reef program and education concerning environmental issues such as clean water and beaches and fish conservation. Based in South Jersey, SFEC sponsors many social events including several fishing tournaments, a boat parade, barbecues, and summer and winter socials. We also sponsor several

shore-related events for children, and are involved in local community service. Friendships and camaraderie are what make SFEC special.

SLACKTIDE’S 3RD ANNUAL BACKBAY FLOUNDER TOURNAMENT IS A FUN EVENT FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! HOWEVER, THIS EVENT HAS A PURPOSE! THIS YEAR WE WILL BE RAISING MONEY FOR A 210,000 LB CULVERT PIPE DEPLOYMENT FOR THE TOWENSEND’S INLET REEF, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE AS EARLY AS SEPTEMEMBER 2026 THROUGH THE SFEC! RAFFLES, 50/50, AND OTHER MONETARY DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THIS DEPLOYMENT. ANYONE INTERESTED IN DONATING A LARGER VALUE PLEASE COME SEE CAMERON AT THE SHOP. LETS MAKE THIS DEPLOYMENT HAPPEN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

The 24th Annual Herb Hollinger Sr Opening Day Flounder Tournament is in the books.

Well done to our winners who caught fish despite the best efforts of the wind to ruin their day. Rich & Jan Hollinger's pulled pork was a homerun - thanks for the delicious dinner and great company.

Allen Fennimore won Overall & the Calcutta with a 3-pound flounder and Brian Hollinger took first place with a 2.4-pound flounder. The Riordan girls get an honorary prize for braving the elements. Kids are the future of our club!!

This is just the beginning of a season full of tournaments!! Be on the look out for our next event coming soon!
