School may have started, but we're not ready to stop the fun at the swimming pool. As a reminder we will be open until the end of August on Fridays from 5 to 8pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 3 to 8pm! And don't miss out on the midnight swim on the 29th!

With all the fall celebrations just around the corner, we'd like to remind everyone that the Village requires a permit for events taking place on Village streets or property. To obtain a permit, you can visit the Village website or stop by the Village Office to complete an application and hold harmless agreement, pay the deposit, and provide a certificate of insurance. This process helps keep everyone safe, allows for proper planning of additional resources, and allows to coordinate a street closure if one is needed for your event. Thank you for helping make our community events safe, successful, and enjoyable for everyone!

The Stratton Public Swimming Pool will remain open during its normal hours of 3:00 to 8:00pm, through Tuesday August 11th.
Weather permitting, we’ll extend the season with the following additional hours:
Thursday August 13: 5:00 to 8:00pm
Fridays- August 14, 21 & 28: 5:00 to 8:00pm
Saturdays & Sundays- August 15-16 & 22-23: 3:00 to 8:00pm
Saturday August 29- Midnight Swim! 3:00 to 12:00am
Sunday August 30- Final Day of the 2026 season 3:00 to 8:00pm

INVITATION TO BID
The Village of Stratton, Nebraska, is accepting bids for the removal and replacement of the roof on the Village Office Building.
Bids must be clearly marked "Village Office Roof Replacement Bid" and submitted to the Village Clerk at the Village Office, 411 Bailey Street, Stratton, Nebraska no later than August 17, 2026 at 5:00 pm CST.
Bids will be considered at the regular meeting of the Village Board on August 17, 2026 at 7:00pm CST.
Complete bid specifications are available upon request from the Village Office.
The Village reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the Village.

Have you paid last month’s utility bill? As a reminder disconnection for non-payment will be on Monday the 3rd at 9:00am. Please make your payment prior to this to prevent interruption of services.

Mosquito Spraying Notice
The Village of Stratton will be conducting mosquito spraying tonight, July 20, 2026, to help reduce the mosquito population within the village limits.
Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions during spraying:
• Close windows and doors while spraying is taking place.
• Bring pets indoors if possible.
• Cover or bring inside children's toys, outdoor pet dishes, and other items that may come into contact with the spray.
• Individuals with respiratory conditions or sensitivities may wish to remain indoors during the application and for a short period afterward.
Spraying is weather permitting and may be postponed due to rain, high winds, or other unfavorable conditions.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to help control mosquitoes and improve public health and comfort throughout the community.

We are aware the power is out in all of Stratton. The issue appears to be widespread and contact is currently being made with our providers, SWPPD. We will update with further information as we can. We appreciate everyone's patience as workers attend to the issue.

***Also, as a reminder please be conservative with water and sewer usage. We do have backup generators to run the wells and pumps. But please turn sprinklers off and only use water as necessary until power is restored. Thank you for your cooperation.
