Fossil Creek Creamery

Fossil Creek Creamery The farm is closed. It might re-open in years to come, but it will be a different business than before.

The Ranch at Fossil Creek covers approximately 15 acres, located adjacent to the Coconino National Forest and overlooking the Ponderosa Pines of the Tonto National Forest. Owners John and Joyce Bittner have been raising dairy goats and llamas here for several years, and in 2007, the new Fossil Creek Creamery was certified by the state of Arizona. The Ranch at Fossil Creek, LLC, is a member of (pro

fessional affiliations):
◾Fresh, Local & Sustainable Food of Canyon Country
◾Local First Arizona
◾Arizona Grown Network
◾Southwest Dairy Goat Association
◾Arizona Farm Bureau
◾Rim Country Chamber of Commerce

The Ranch received a 2008 USDA Value Added Grant to pursue the making, marketing, and sales of dairy goat milk cheeses, fudge, soaps and lotions.

It’s with a heavy heart that we begin this post - we would like to update all of the wonderful followers of Fossil Creek Creamery that John Bittner went home to be with our Lord last Monday, April 6. Many of you know that he battled kidney disease for the last few years, and in the last weeks, pneumonia overtook his weakened immune system.

However, we would like to celebrate a life well-lived and a wonderful legacy that John left behind. Going forward, we’ll add photos and other remembrances on this page, and we invite you to use the “Reviews” area to comment or create visitor posts as you have done in the past. This photo was just taken a last month in Texas. We lift up Joyce in our prayers and we will miss you most immensely, John.

If you are interested in donating in John’s name, then please consider JDRF - John’s grandson Jeremy was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes 5 years ago at the age of 13. He has been immensely active in the JDRF organization, even making a trip to Washington DC this past year to represent JDRF in Congress. His Papa was immensely proud of him and his accomplishments, and would be thrilled to have you donate to a cause he loved.

We wanted to update you all and thank you for your continued support.. It is so heartwarming to know that we touch your lives at some point. Thank you ❤️

After 20 years of raising llamas and goats and making goat milk products, Joyce and John Bittner, owners of Fossil Creek Creamery closed their farm and retired to Prescott.

Some of their products are still available using their farm recipes. You can find our goat milk fudge and lotions at the Farmers Market store on Hwy 87 in Pine.

Annie, our former employee, has renamed the products..
Strawberry's Original
Stop in from 10 til 4 on Saturdays, and from 10 til 2 on Fridays and Sundays.

Also, our same products are available in Tempe at Singh Meadows, located directly south of Big Sur.

This is a wonderful farmers market and café with a golf course setting. Bring the kids and make a day of it.

Lee, the owner, reminded us that Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of sweet corn season there.
Stop in and buy our fudge, lotion and soaps.

If you are coming to Prescott anytime this summer you will find our goat milk fudge at the store and restaurant on Lynx Lake just south of Costco on Walker Road.
