What a wonderful start to our Learning on the Go summer program! ☀️📚🎨

We loved seeing children and families come together for stories, learning activities, creativity, and fun right here in our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first session a success!

Missed it? There’s still plenty of time to join us! We will be at Sunnydale Elementary every Tuesday from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM throughout the summer. We look forward to learning, playing, and growing together each week!

🏆 We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our Sunnydale community!

Today, during our district-wide administrators meeting, Sunnydale Elementary was recognized for achieving the largest growth in the Rigor Diagnostic over the past five years!

The Rigor Diagnostic helps us measure how teaching practices and student learning experiences are growing to ensure all students are engaged in meaningful, grade-level learning every day. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our incredible teachers, staff, students, and families.

We are proud of the growth we have made together and remain committed to providing high-quality learning experiences that challenge, support, and inspire every Mustang.

Thank you to our entire Sunnydale community for being part of this journey. This achievement belongs to all of us! 💙🐴

Get ready for a summer filled with FREE books, story time, crafts, lunch, take-home learning activities, and even the library bookmobile! 🚐📖 Families with children ages birth to five can join EPEL and community partners for fun, play-based learning experiences right in neighborhood parks across Elgin, Hanover Park, and Streamwood.

Students can now continue reading and growing their literacy skills all summer long. ☀️📖 Be sure to check out the setup video sent to your emails and the students emails to help your child access their account and get started in their Chromebooks.

What a beautiful way to close out the 2025 2026 school year at Sunnydale! ☀️🎉

Our 5th and 6th graders celebrated with their end of year picnic and enjoyed every minute together making memories with friends. A huge thank you to all of the families who came out to support our students and brought such delicious food to share. Your generosity helped make the day extra special! 💙

We also proudly “clapped out” our 5th and 6th graders as they begin their transition to middle school. It was a joyful and emotional moment for our Sunnydale family. 👏🎓

To wrap up the year, we gathered for our traditional flagpole ceremony - a meaningful Sunnydale tradition and the perfect ending to another wonderful school year.

Nuestros estudiantes de 5.º y 6.º grado celebraron con su picnic de fin de año y disfrutaron cada momento creando recuerdos con sus amigos. ¡Muchísimas gracias a todas las familias que asistieron para apoyar a sus estudiantes y trajeron comida tan deliciosa para compartir! 💙

También celebramos con orgullo la despedida de nuestros estudiantes de 5.º y 6.º grado mientras comienzan su transición a la escuela intermedia. Fue un momento lleno de alegría y emoción para toda la familia de Sunnydale. 👏🎓

Para terminar el año, nos reunimos para nuestra tradicional ceremonia en el asta de la bandera una tradición muy especial de Sunnydale y la manera perfecta de cerrar otro maravilloso año escolar.

📚✨ What an amazing day at our Sunnydale Book Quest Book Fair! ✨📚

Our students had so much fun exploring books and building their home libraries. Every student had the opportunity to choose up to FIVE free Scholastic books to take home, and the excitement in the library was incredible to see!

We are so thankful for everyone who helped make this experience possible, especially our volunteers and staff who supported this special event. Most importantly, we loved seeing our students so excited about reading. 💙📖

📚✨ ¡Qué día tan increíble tuvimos en nuestra Feria de Libros Book Quest de Sunnydale! ✨📚

Nuestros estudiantes se divirtieron mucho explorando libros y formando sus bibliotecas en casa. Cada estudiante tuvo la oportunidad de escoger hasta CINCO libros Scholastic gratis para llevar a casa, ¡y fue increíble ver la emoción en la biblioteca!

Estamos muy agradecidos con todos los que ayudaron a hacer posible esta experiencia, especialmente nuestros voluntarios y el personal que apoyó este evento tan especial. Lo más importante fue ver a nuestros estudiantes tan emocionados por la lectura. 💙📖

From all the excitement and teamwork during Field Day to participating in our Ceiling Tiles of Inclusion project through the No Place for Hate initiative, our students have been showing what it means to lead with kindness, courage, unity, and acceptance. We love seeing our Mustangs create a school community where everyone feels seen, valued, and included! 🐎✨

Today, we had the honor of welcoming back our graduating seniors from Streamwood High School! 🎓💙

Our students and staff lined the hallways to cheer them on as they walked through the building where many of their educational journeys began. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and wish them continued success as they take the next step toward their dreams.
