All local veterans, the Stroud American Legion Post #257 is facing a crisis. Due to a lack of members willing to take positions as officers, the state has made it clear that we have three options, option 1 we shut our doors and close the legion (this would cause the building to become property of the federal legion and orphan the legion auxillary). Option 2 we merge with another Legion (this could end in the same result as option 1), and the last option, option 3 we get some local veterans to step up and take positions as officers and help us get back on track, we would need an adjutant, a finance officer, a sergeant at arms, and a chaplain, and a 3 person advisory board. I will finish out this year as the commander and have a vice commander for this period. A secretary, 2nd vice commander, and historian would be great also. We will hold an emergency meeting. May 11th 2026, at 6 PM and would be very appreciative of any and all support. You do not have to be a member to attend. This is for all vets who would like to come out, support the legion and potentially step up and become a part of this organization.
