Stroud Food Pantry initiates Grab and Go
In an effort to keep everyone as safe as we can while fulfilling our mission to distribute food to those who qualify, the Stroud Food Pantry has initiated “Grab and Go” in response to the current COVID-19 health crisis. These procedures take effect beginning with the March 24th distribution and will remain in effect until further notice.
• Please be aware of the following:
o Participants in Stroud Food Pantry programs will not be allowed in the building. We will be distributing groceries in the alley way directly north of our building.
o We ask that you prepare your car or truck to receive grocery allotments by making space in the trunk or the back of your truck.
o Send someone to pick up your groceries if you are sick, even if you are not sick please remain in your car with the window rolled up while you pick up your groceries.
o Our hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Coming after 11:30 a.m. will generally result in a shorter wait time.
• To receive your groceries:
o Enter the alley way behind the Senior Citizen Center in your vehicle forming one line. All program participants must come through the ally including individuals previously provided curbside accommodations because of disability or health issues.
o You will not have to sign for your groceries. While you are in line, a pantry volunteer will briefly speak with you and initial the record that you are receiving groceries. When you reach the front of the line, your groceries will be placed into your vehicle avoiding as much contact with you as possible.
o If this is your first visit to the Stroud Food Pantry you will be given an application. Please fill out that application while in line and present it to the Pantry volunteer when you receive your groceries. You will need a pen, birthdates of everyone in your household and proof of address. A driver’s license with your current address or a utility bill are commonly used to prove residency.
• As volunteers, we have always enjoyed the friendly social atmosphere that is part of the Stroud Food Pantry experience. Now is not the time for conversation. As little interaction with the volunteers as possible helps everyone stay safe. Please do not be offended if your experience feels rushed and impersonal. We ask that you help us by following these procedures and staying informed of current Health Department guidelines and directives. You can access current official Oklahoma COVID-19 guidelines at https://coronavirus.health.ok.gov/
Thank you!
