A very exciting today in the Village of Indiantown, celebrating the groundbreaking of Sedron Technologies' Integrated Regional Biosolids Management & Renewable Energy Facility.

This state-of-the-art facility will represent a significant advancement in how Florida manages biosolids, offering communities across the state a sustainable alternative to traditional disposal methods.

The environmental benefits are highly noteworthy. Biosolids can spike phosphorus and nitrogen levels in our waterways, leading to harmful algal blooms. Fortunately, Sedron Technologies's facility will have the capacity to reportedly treat more than 330,000 tons per year in a sustainable approach resulting in:

- A 97 percent reduction in energy use compared to traditional methods
- Conversion of dewatered biosolids into reclaimed water, liquid fertilizer, and dry solids suitable for renewable fuel
- Achievement of PFAS (forever chemicals) destruction through high-temperature processing

A spin-off of Janicki Industries, which manufactures aerospace parts, fighter jets, and NASA-grade components for space travel, Sedron Technologies' facility puts our community at the forefront of environmental innovation.

Check out William Corbin's latest Director's Letter for more on how--after a long absence in the local marketplace--industrial sites are coming online as well as in the planning, allowing for increased opportunity, job creation and greater diversification of Martin County's taxbase.

"Historically, Martin County’s economic strength is rooted in legacy industries such as marine, aviation, advanced manufacturing and a variety of professional services," writes Corbin. "And there’s been a positive trend happening recently to support industries – the development and construction of new industrial business parks featuring spaces that vary in size, from as little as 1,500 square feet to hundreds of thousands of square feet at the larger end.

"This is great for the local economy because it provides options for the entire spectrum of businesses, from budding entrepreneurs to medium and large size corporations looking to expand into the area. It also helps the county be more economically resilient."

“This is one of the most exciting conversations taking place today in the world of aviation, business and technology and Martin County is at the table,” says William Corbin.

Innovators working to reach a higher elevation in the evolution of aviation technology recently convened at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne—and two aerospace companies with ties to Martin County joined them.

Florida Advanced Air Mobility Pitch Day attracted companies pioneering new plateaus in drones, uncrewed aerial systems and the technologies that make the next generation of flight possible.
