🚫🌱 NO FERTILIZER June 1 – Nov 30
City Ordinance 2380-2018

It’s fertilizer blackout season in the City of Stuart. That means no fertilizers containing Nitrogen or Phosphorus may be applied from June 1 through November 30 each year.

Why it matters: Fertilizer runoff fuels harmful algae blooms that threaten our rivers, lagoons, and local wildlife. Let’s keep Stuart’s waterways clean—together!

⚠ Also Prohibited: Illegal dumping of paint, used motor oil, yard waste, trash, or any other pollutants into storm drains, ditches, ponds, lakes, streams, or waterways. 📞 Report violations: Call the City hotline at 772-600-1260

The City of Stuart is getting ready to paint the waterfront red, white, and blue once again as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary this coming Fourth of July!

Fireworks over the river? Absolutely.
Live music echoing through downtown? You bet.
Family fun with kids’ activities, food vendors, and an outdoor movie under the stars? Of course.

And making its triumphant return: Stuart’s wildly patriotic hometown favorite, the Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade! From stars-and-stripes sparkle to full-blown rolling Americana masterpieces, the parade kicks off the celebration on the morning of July 4th and never fails to deliver smiles, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

This year’s celebration promises extra energy as communities across the nation mark 250 years of American independence, and Stuart plans to celebrate in full waterfront style.

Check out the lineup of events at https://www.stuartfl.gov/602/Annual-July-4th-Celebrations and start planning your star-spangled weekend now.

Golf cart owners: registration forms for the 2026 Golf Cart Parade are ready and waiting. Decorate your ride, wave your flags, and compete for prizes for best decorated entries. 🇺🇸🛺✨

Stuart, it’s time to celebrate 250 years of freedom... Stuart-style.

Hurricane season may be unpredictable, but preparation isn’t. 🌀

Today, four City of Stuart team members joined a long-term hurricane recovery exercise led by the Martin County Emergency Management Agency , working alongside partners from across the county to strengthen our recovery plans before a storm ever forms.

Milton Leggett, Stephanie Hughey, and Peter Kunen took on the challenges of “Hurricane Sailfish,” focusing on infrastructure recovery and restoring critical services. Meanwhile, Misti Guertin joined municipal leaders from around the region to develop communications strategies that help keep residents informed before, during, and after a storm.

Training exercises like this help ensure that when a real hurricane strikes, our teams are ready to respond, recover, and keep our community moving forward.
