Patrick County Administration is pleased to recognize Travis Lacks as the Employee of the Month for September 2025.

Travis has been a dedicated employee of Patrick County Parks & Recreation since June 2007. He initially joined the department as a part-time staff member and transitioned to full-time status in July 2009. Throughout his entire public service career, he has remained committed to the Parks & Recreation Department.

Travis’ responsibilities include general maintenance of the community center, athletic fields, and park facilities. He also plays a key role in supporting the operation of various park programs and activities.

Travis is recognized for his exemplary job performance, leadership, teamwork, dependability, and for fostering a positive and supportive work environment. “Travis has always gone above and beyond to accomplish new goals.” His strong work ethic is evident every week, as his nominator states: “Regardless of the chaos that often comes with Parks and Recreation, Travis is always here early and stays late—his commitment never wavers.”

An outstanding example of Travis’ commitment to going above and beyond was demonstrated during the July 2025 soccer season. With children ages 3 to 13 enrolled, every park across the county required fields to be mowed and lined to specific soccer field dimensions. Travis dedicated countless hours over several days to ensure each field was meticulously prepared—not only meeting the necessary requirements, but his own high standards of excellence.

Travis’ ongoing commitment to making Parks & Recreation sporting events enjoyable for children and their families has made him an invaluable member of the department. He works diligently to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all who use the buildings, parks, and fields under the department’s care. “His hard work never fails to show how valuable he truly is.”

Thanks for a great spring season. Congratulations to No Limit softball team for winning first place season. Congratulations to the Grizzlies on winning the tournament championship. We would like to thank every team that play to support the park. Look forward to fall league starting August 12
