The Egg Harbor Fire Department will not be issuing burn permits today, May 4, 2026 due to the wind conditions.

We strongly advise against ALL burning today.

Here is the latest update on the clean up process in Door County after Snowstorm Elsa. We are aware there are a handfull of roads we still need to get to and we hopeful that we are able to have access for all residents tomorrow.

🚧 Door County Highway Department is doing the best they can to keep the highways open. Many county and side roads are reportedly impassable. We are urging all residents to STAY HOME unless an emergency occurs.

🪝There is a county wide tow ban in effect.

🚨🚨Lastly, do not forget to check your furnace exhaust and vents. If your home vents become blocked, it can cause CO POISONING to residence.🚨🚨

Press Release:

On Monday March 9, 2026 at 0402 hours Egg Harbor Fire Department along with Auto-aid was dispatched to 5048 Alpen Ln. in the Village of Egg Harbor for the reports of a bedroom on fire, the occupants were evacuating. Door County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene first and found fire on the exterior of the residence, the Deputy used a fire extinguisher from their patrol car to extinguish most of the fire. Firefighters arrived and deployed an 1 3/4 hoseline and used approximately 20 gallons of water to put the remaining hot spots out, Firefighters checked the inside of the home for extension with a thermal imaging camera, overhaul of the affected area was completed further to ensure all Fire was out.

Auto-aid was provided by Sister Bay/Liberty Grove, Ephraim, Baileys Harbor, Gibraltar, Jacksonport and Sturgeon Bay Fire Department’s, other agencies assisting Door County EMS, Door County Sheriff’s Office and Door County Communications Center.

The cause of the fire was from improperly discarded smoking materials.

The occupants were alerted to the Fire by a working smoke detector located near the master bedroom.

There were no injuries and damage is estimated at approximately $20,000.

Egg Harbor Fire responded with 1 Truck, 2 Tenders, 1 Brush truck, 1 Command Vehicle and 12 Firefighters.

All Fire units cleared the scene at 0539 Monday morning.

Press Release:

On Tuesday February 24th at 825 am Egg Harbor Fire and Mutual Aid were dispatched to 4929 Landmark Dr. The Landmark Resort Pilot Building for the reports of smoke in the fitness room. Door County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene shortly after the initial page and advised there was smoke in the building and evacuation was in progress. A maintenance employee advised there was a fire in a light fixture and on the wall, maintenance discharged 2 Fire Extinguishers to put out the fire prior to Fire Department arrival.

Egg Harbor Fire arrived and checked for extension in the attic area and around the light fixture finding no extension, ventilation of the building was conducted.

The cause is under investigation at this time and the fire is not suspicious in nature.

Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000.

Egg Harbor Fire responded with 1 Truck, 2 Tenders, 1 Squad and 9 firefighters. Mutual aid was provided thru Auto-aid from Sister Bay/Liberty Grove, Ephraim, Gibraltar, Baileys Harbor, Jacksonport, and Sturgeon Bay Fire Department’s along with assistance from Door County Sheriff’s Office, Door County EMS and Door County Dispatch Center.

No injuries were reported.

All Fire units cleared the at 1001 Tuesday morning
