I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn. I BELIEVE the proper role o

f government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and that the best government is that which governs least. I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people. I BELIEVE Americans retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times. I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world. Finally, I BELIEVE the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

The Meade County Republicans Summer picnic will be held on Sunday June 28th at the Ross Lamphere Ranch. Social starts at 4:00 PM and a catered meal will be served beginning at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $20.00 Please RSVP at 605-347-1084.

The Meade County Lincoln Day Dinner will be held the evening of March 28th 2015 in Sturgis, SD at the main street auditorium. The meal will be provided by the famous Loud American restaurant with their great steak tips and fixings.

Meade County Republicans invite you to a post Primary Election gathering to be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Sturgis beginning at 7 pm on Tuesday June 3 2014. Bring any snacks you may like to share along with a cash bar. All candidates and interested parties are invited to join us.

Craig Lawrence, Chairman of the SD GOP will be the featured speaker at the 2014 Lincoln Day Dinner. The dinner will held Saturday, March 22 at the Sturgis auditorium at 1019 Main Street. Social hour begins at 5:00 PM and the steak tip dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. A fundraising auction will be conducted.

The Meade County Republican Executive Committee met this evening to plan future events. The Lincoln Day Dinner is tentatively being planned for late March or early April. Craig Lawrence, Chairman of the South Dakota Republican Party, will be invited to be the keynote speaker.

The State Convention will be held June 19-21, 2014 at the Rapid City Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The 2014 summer picnic is scheduled to be held on July 13, 2014 at the Lamphere Ranch.
