The City of Stuttgart offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

As a result, the garbage pickup schedule for next week will be adjusted as follows:

- Monday's garbage will be picked up on Tuesday.
- Tuesday's garbage will be picked up on Wednesday.
- Wednesday's garbage will be picked up on Thursday.
- Thursday's garbage will be picked up on Friday.

A big thank-you to the Arkansas State Highway Department! Today, they were out taking care of some much-needed cleanup along Highway 11/63 near the hospital on North Buerkle Street. They’ll also be working in other areas, helping clean out ditches throughout our community. We appreciate the partnership and the work being done to keep Stuttgart looking its best!

The City of Stuttgart will be taking applications for the position of Patrol Officer in the Police Department. There are several positions available. Please pick up your application at the Stuttgart City Hall, 3rd and Maple Streets, fill out and return for processing.

Due to Entergy replacing a power pole in the alley, the traffic lights at Main and 2nd and Main and 3rd are not working properly. Main Street is the throughway and will not stop. Stop signs are in place for east- and westbound traffic. Please drive carefully while repairs are underway.

Stuttgart is experiencing extremely hot and dry weather. Please take extra care of your outdoor animals, check on your neighbors—especially the elderly—and remember that we are currently under a burn ban. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and let’s continue looking out for one another.

Smoke testing will take place Tuesday, August 18th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the North Hills Subdivision to test storm drains, followed by sanitary sewer testing in the Oliver Addition at 10:30 a.m.

Residents may see fire trucks and heavy smoke in these areas. Please do not be alarmed. We appreciate your patience as we inspect the city’s drainage and sewer systems.
