From historian Timothy Snyder: "A week from today, on October 18th, millions of Americans will gather in thousands of places to protest the countless ways our current administration is attacking our freedoms. Some elected officials — details in the video — cannot even bear to say the name of the protests out loud « No Kings ». Instead they are trying to message-discipline themselves into the propaganda line that protestors hate their country. Ha! It’s exactly the opposite. Protestors believe that action has meaning. Protestors are exercising the rights enshrined in the Constitution. For me, protest is about live of country, where live means wanting my country to survive and thrive and be the best version of itself. I will be there on October 18th, and I hope you wil be too. The video has the thoughts about why lying about protest is harmful and why getting out in public with others is helpful. Thanks for being with me."

Caucus to Elect Representatives to 2025 State Convention

SUDBURY — On Thursday, April 3rd at 7:00pm, Democrats will convene at First Parish of Sudbury to elect 13 delegates and 4 alternates to represent Sudbury at the 2025 State Democratic Convention.

Doors open for registration at 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start. You must be registered by 7:15p in order to vote.

Individuals aged 16 and above who have registered or pre-registered as Democrats in Sudbury by Saturday, March 29th, 2025 may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. Youth (age 16 to 35), people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting:

massdems.org/massdems-convention.

The 2025 Convention itself will be in person at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA on Saturday, September 13th.

…to canvass for Warren for Senate in Sudbury. No experience needed, just bring comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and your (hopefully reusable) water bottle. After a short speech from Carmine you’ll receive your “turf map” (about 30 houses), door hangers, and talking points. Then it’s off to the races!

If you have a smartphone, download the miniVAN app from NGP VAN https://www.ngpvan.com/ and open the app to create an ActionID login. If not, we can provide the info on paper.

Date: This Saturday, July 27, 2024

Start time: 11:45am (tentative: sign up to get updated info)

Place: Sign up to receive the kick off address. After the kick off (hopefully by 12:40pm or so) you go to your assigned “turf” somewhere in Sudbury.

End time: You should be done by about 2:00pm.
