On February 4th, Donald was officially sworn in at U.S. Coast Guard Station Fire Island — marking a historic milestone as the first reservist in Coast Guard history to access under the new Prior Service Direct Entry Program (PSDEP).

The PSDEP is designed for prior service members who separated in good standing within the past 24 months. This program allows qualified veterans to transition directly into the Coast Guard and report straight to their unit — without attending formal Coast Guard Boot Camp.

Donald is leading the way for future prior service members looking to continue serving their country in the Coast Guard Reserve.

Welcome aboard, Donald. Semper Paratus.

As one of the smallest branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, the Coast Guard has always been known for doing more with less. But that’s about to change.

A new administration is ushering in a bold era for the Coast Guard—starting with the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a historic piece of legislation that delivers nearly $25 billion in funding to modernize and expand our service.

Here’s where that investment is going:

🔹 $4.3 billion – Nine new Offshore Patrol Cutters
🔹 $4.3 billion – Polar Security Cutters to bolster Arctic operations
🔹 $4.4 billion – Upgrades to shore infrastructure, training facilities, and homeports
🔹 $14.1 billion – A new generation of Coast Guard cutters
🔹 $3.7 billion – State-of-the-art aircraft

This bill also supports key missions including counter-drug operations, homeland security, and overall military readiness. It represents the largest single investment in the Coast Guard since World War II.

This momentous investment is a direct result of the incredible work our people do every single day. There’s never been a better time to be in the Coast Guard—or to join.
