📚 Morgan Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, as Suffolk Public Library staff prepare for the opening of the new Downtown Suffolk Library.

During the transition:
• The 24-hour item returns at Morgan Memorial Library will remain open through June 26.
• Items checked out from Morgan Memorial Library will not be due until June 29.
• Online services will remain available.

Library services, materials and programs will continue to be available at:
📍 North Suffolk Library, 2000 Bennetts Creek Park Road
📍 Chuckatuck Library, 5881 Godwin Blvd.

The grand opening for the new Downtown Suffolk Library on 325 West Washington Street will begin on June 27, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The community is invited to attend the celebration, which will feature arts & crafts, tours of the new facility, and additional family-friendly activities.

“The new Downtown Suffolk Library is designed to serve as a vibrant community gathering place where residents can connect, learn, create, and grow,” said Clint S. Rudy, Director of Libraries.
