Do you own a small business in the Sugar Grove area? Want to make your marketing work harder for you?

June’s luncheon meeting’s topic will be Marketing for Small Business. Meredith Krantz from Krantz Strategies will be our speaker.

Your first impression happens online, often before a customer ever calls, visits, or makes a purchase.

In this session led by Meredith Krantz, President and CEO of Krantz Strategies of Sugar Grove, you will learn how to strengthen your “digital front door,” the key places people find and evaluate your business, from Google to social media and beyond. We will focus on what to fix first and how to make simple updates that improve your visibility and credibility.

You will also learn how to leverage accessible AI tools to save time and support your marketing without adding complexity. Walk away with practical steps you can implement right away to help your business be seen, trusted, and chosen.

It will be held June 18th at Burnt Barrel.

Chamber members are free to attend, guests are $5 which is waived if you join in the coming months.

Lunch will be on your own.

Please RSVP to [email protected] so we know how many to set the room for.

The duration of solar contracts is too long. Most are thirty years or more. They end up being pennies on the dollar in tax revenue over that time which is worse than a TIF district. A ten year contract would be a measureable benefit , more than that has the potential to be a tax burden.
The amount of potential revenue lost in future development puts more of the burden on the taxpayers.
The government might want to consider working with utility providers for partnerships in order to offer better rates to their customers and leave the farmers out of being a third party utility company.

These farms make sense in a non desireable location for future development such as our approved solar farm located across from Aurora Municipal airport. Unfortunately most are going up in areas well suited for other projects.

Kendall County Board member Seth Wormley says the county cannot really say no to certain solar projects because of state law.

Important information from our Village regarding the BUILD ACT..

I am a NO for this. Please voice your opinion to the Village trustees & our state government legislatures.

🏡 Residents are stepping up to voice their opinions in public hearings and meetings because the decisions made in their neighborhoods truly matter! However, many local leaders worry that the proposed BUILD Act could restrict community input on important issues such as development, redevelopment, and infrastructure planning by enforcing statewide zoning mandates.

To support housing growth, we need more than just changes in zoning—it’s essential to invest in infrastructure such as water capacity, sewer systems, stormwater management, roads, public safety, schools, and parking solutions. While the BUILD Act aims to increase density, it fails to provide the resources communities need to manage that growth effectively.

📢 Contact your state legislators today to share your thoughts on the BUILD Act!
