Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything for our nation.

From all of us at the Berne Township Fire Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families.

🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE 🚨

To all Berne Township and Village of Sugar Grove,

You may notice loud noise, visible flame, or the smell of natural gas in the area today due to scheduled maintenance at a gas transmission station on Old Logan Rd.

⚠️This is a controlled operation and not an emergency.⚠️

Our department is aware and monitoring the situation. Please avoid the area and only call 911 if you notice a strong gas odor inside your home or signs of an uncontrolled leak.

⚠️🚨🚨Berne Township Community🚨🚨⚠️
Let’s have a conversation, if you are not essential employees, then its simple - please do not be on the roadways. The department has already been out and about responding to calls, medial emergencies. Our apparatus’s are larger than a normal car, wider than a normal car or truck. It is not easy or safe to maneuver around traffic in these road conditions we are encountering. Stay off the roadways, unnecessary travel may impede our crews responses. The storm has only begun. Stay tuned for any notifications.

LEVEL THREE
Fairfield county is now under a level three snow emergency. All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
