The Gwinnett Historical Society is super excited about America’s upcoming 250th birthday! Even more exciting is the fact that our GHS President (Jason West/Button Gwinnett) was a recent guest on the Gwinnett Chamber’s Voice of Business Podcast with Executive Director Nick Masino! Today is Joann Burel Day. Joann is a descendant of the Shelley family, one of the families who were early settlers in Sugar Hill. Their house on Level Creek Road still stands as the oldest house in Sugar Hill. She served on the Sugar Hill Historic Preservation Board for many years. We wish her well on this very special day.
