**Update on Streeter Pond Road Closure**

Road will remain open for another two weeks. Closure is expected to begin on Monday, September 14th.

⚠️STREETER POND ROAD CLOSING⚠️

From approximately September 1st through October 28th a Section of Streeter Pond Road at Crane Hill Bridge will be closed. These dates are approximate at this time. We will keep you updated.

Streeter Pond will be open from Route 18 to just past Hannah Lane. The existing bridge will remain open during the Streeter Pond Road closure. Anyone living on Streeter Pond Road at or beyond Ski Hearth Farm towards the Lisbon Town line will either need to go towards Route 302 or take the old bridge up Crane Hill Road to Blake Road to Route 117 to get to Franconia. This also applies to any roads off Streeter Pond Road (Valley Vista, Hidden Acres, Streeter Pond Drive).
Police, Fire and EMS cover arrangements will be in place.

⚠️Scam Alert!⚠️

We were just notified by a local resident that they were contacted by someone claiming to be from the Troopers Association looking for donations. While the resident was smart enough to recognize that it was a scam we would like to remind everyone to never to give out personal information over the phone to unverified sources. Do not answer questions, and never confirm personal or financial details over an unverified phone call. Also, neither local Law Enforcement nor NH State Police will ever ligitimately call asking you for donations so you can be sure that these are scams.

Sorry for the short notice. Streeter Pond Road will be closed to through traffic intermittently Thursday May 28th and Friday May 29th. Exception will be made for Emergency Vehicles for actual Emergency. Please plan accordingly.

As Spring approaches we would like to remind our residents and roadside cleanup volunteers to be careful when handling items that could be hazardous. If you do come across anything like what is listed below please contact us at the Sugar Hill Police Department and we will assist you with disposing of it.

COFFIN POND - STAY OFF THE ICE

The Town was advised late Wednesday by NHDES that the Coffin Pond Dam is in failure. Workers from NHDES started draining the pond today and anticipate completion by the end of next week. While the ice looks great, it is very very dangerous and people should not try and walk on it

Please share this information with friends so that we don't have any emergency situations arise. The dam is on property owned by NH Fish & Game and the NHDES Dam Bureau is in charge of maintaining the dam. The town will work closely with all involved to see that the dam is replaced.

Due to the extreme cold weather that is forecast to hit our area this weekend, the Crapo building will be available as a warming shelter for anyone who needs it. This will be especially if our area experiences power outages. We will have the bathrooms available downstairs as well as the kitchen facilities and electric outlets. Any of our residents who are interested in this can reach out to us directly at the Sugar Hill Police Department!
