🚔 Marshal on the Move! 🚔

Today, Marshal Dang represented the Sugar Hill Marshals Office at the Gwinnett Stripers Touch-A-Truck event, giving families and future first responders a chance to get an up-close look at one of our marshal vehicles.

From flashing lights to answering questions about what we do in Sugar Hill, Marshal Dang spent the day connecting with the community and helping kids explore the vehicles that help keep our city safe.

A big thank you to the Gwinnett Stripers and all the organizations that helped make this event a success. We always enjoy opportunities to meet residents, build relationships, and show that public safety is about more than enforcement—it’s about community.

We were excited to see the recent coverage of the Autism Awareness Traffic Stop Placard program being utilized by our neighbors

The Sugar Hill Marshals Office adopted a similar program last year as part of our ongoing commitment to improving communication and understanding between first responders and members of the autism community.

We’re always encouraged to see initiatives like this continue to grow. The more agencies that embrace programs designed to reduce anxiety, improve communication, and create positive interactions, the better it is for the individuals and families we all serve.

Awareness matters. Understanding matters. And we’re proud to see these important conversations continuing throughout our region. 💙

🚴‍♂️ Marshal Monday: Bike Helmet Safety 🚴‍♀️

Should I wear a helmet when riding my bike?

YEPPERS!

Under Georgia law (OCGA 40-6-296), anyone under the age of 16 riding or being carried on a bicycle is required to wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet.

While the law specifically applies to riders under 16, wearing a helmet is a smart choice for cyclists of all ages. A helmet can significantly reduce the risk of serious head injuries in the event of a fall or crash.

Before your next ride:
✅ Make sure your helmet fits properly
✅ Fasten the chin strap securely
✅ Inspect your helmet for damage
✅ Replace helmets that have been involved in a crash

Whether you’re riding around the neighborhood, on a trail, or through the city, protecting your head is one of the easiest ways to stay safe.

This Memorial Day, the Sugar Hill Marshals Office pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and pay tribute to those who gave everything for our country.

From all of us at the Sugar Hill Marshals Office, we extend our gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Greenway has been reopened.

⚠️⛔️ Be advised, the greenway in the area of Whitehead Rd has multiple large trees down. Parks and Rec is working on resolving the issue. We will update when the trail has been cleared.
