This past week, Suisun City Fire Department was proud to host a 4-day Drone Pilot Training Course designed to prepare students for their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
Participants received comprehensive instruction on drone operations, airspace regulations, safety procedures, mission planning, and the knowledge required to successfully pass the FAA certification exam. The course brought together public safety professionals and drone operators committed to expanding their skills and enhancing emergency response capabilities.

Today, Suisun City Fire Department provided mutual aid to Suisun Fire Protection District for a vegetation fire on Grizzly Island Road. Crews quickly extinguished the 20x100 vegetation fire despite windy conditions. Due to the upcoming Red Flag warning, we ask everyone to use extreme caution.

Currently, SCFD Engine 48, Engine 548, Engine 347, and FRF BC37 are currently on scene of a vegetation fire that extended into a large shipping container west of West Street and South of Cordelia Road. The fire has been contained to the shipping container. Due to the area, the fire is actually in Suisun Fire Protection area and Suisun City FD and Fairfield FD are currently providing mutual aid. There is no threat to Suisun City.

**** Residential Structure Fire ****

Currently, SCFD Engine 48, Engine 548, Engine 347, and Fairfield FD Battalion 37 are on scene of a residential fire in the 500 block of Fortuna Dr. The fire has been contained to the side yard. There is no additional threat. Crews will remain on scene completing overhaul. Please avoid the area.

Second Alarm Fire Contained at Suisun City Walmart

Suisun City, CA – May 14, 2026
On Wednesday, May 13, at approximately 10:39 p.m., the Suisun City Fire Department and Suisun City Police Department were dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Walmart located at 350 Walters Road in Suisun City. Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls reporting a fire inside the store, with numerous occupants evacuating the building.

Due to confirmed reports of an active fire and ongoing evacuations, the incident was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm Commercial Structure Fire response.

First-arriving fire units reported visible smoke, active fire conditions, and an activated fire sprinkler system inside the store. Firefighters, with mutual aid assistance from the Fairfield Fire Department, Vacaville City Fire Department, Travis Air Force Base Fire Department, Vallejo Fire Department, and the Suisun City Police Department, were able to contain the fire to the area of origin.

The Suisun City Police Department assisted with the safe evacuation of store employees and customers, as the business was open at the time of the incident.

The fire was successfully contained through the combined efforts of firefighters and the building’s automatic fire sprinkler system, significantly limiting fire spread. However, substantial smoke and water damage occurred throughout the store, resulting in significant damage to contents and merchandise.

The fire remains under investigation and has been determined to be an act of arson. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Suisun City Fire Department at (707) 421-7205.
